by Karina Garcia (Author) Niki Smith (Illustrator)
YouTube Slime Queen Karina Garcia teams up with Kevin Panetta and Niki Smith for a fun, colorful adventure that follows three friends as they run their own slime shop business and the slimes who secretly come alive to help them.
Bailey, Sophia, and Jayden run the BSJ slime shop but what the three slime makers don't know is that when they're not around, the slimes come to life! When the creators start shipping slimes off to who-knows-where, the slimes left at the shop start to worry that they're next. Even as Polly tries to convince her friends that everything is fine, Boris, a grumpy green slime, starts taking things into his own hands. Then slimes start disappearing and suddenly the shop is full of zombie slimes.
With half the shop zombified and the other half scared silly, Polly has no choice but to go on a quest, along with her friends Max and Karma, to discover the truth about the slimes being shipped off and a way to save her friends before it's too late.
Will they be able to turn everyone back into themselves? Or will the slime shop get shut down for good?

A hilarious, action-packed romp with appeal far exceeding its amorphous appearance.
Debut creator Garcia, Panetta (Archie & Katy Keene), and Smith (The Golden Hour) craft a loosely plotted, shenanigan-filled graphic novel about the secret lives of slime creations made by a trio of tweens. Sisters Bailey and Sophia and their friend Jayden--aspiring entrepreneurs--are preparing to enter a video contest sponsored by famous slime maker Aymee for a chance to sell their wares in her online store. When the group leaves the concoctions to rest over the weekend, the slimes come alive. A light green, churlish glob who calls himself Boris declares that they should destroy the tweens' slime shop ("The kids are sending slimes off to who knows where! How do we know we're not next?"). If the rest of the bouncy blobs hope to stop him, rose-colored Polly, banana-hued Karma, and their friends must find Mr. O, the enigmatic Original Slime. Smith employs a vibrant color palette and psychedelic tones to depict the slimes' harebrained adventures. Inspired by Garcia's popular YouTube channel, this goofy tale covers topics regarding creativity, entrepreneurial pursuits, and friendship. Slime recipes conclude. Bailey and Sophia are portrayed with brown skin; Jayden cues as Black. Ages 8-12. (Aug.)
