This is the third book in the Super Animals series, beautifully illustrated nonfiction about special animals. For little biologists ages 5 years up.

This book illustrates and explains several animals that are considered the largest with fun riddles, super clear diagrams, and concise sentences. I think kids would love this, because who doesn't love learning all about huge animals?! I love the illustrations- the direct comparison with the size of a human being, the maps to show the habitats, close-ups to different body parts, the types of food, and the pictures of cute baby animals. Would definitely get a copy for my classroom! - NJ Intercultural School
Firstly, the illustrations are just beautiful, and although this is a non-fiction book I think the illustrations would be extremely engaging for children. I liked the way the information was presented in small chunks around the page, rather than being in one large piece of text. This would make the book more accessible for young students and for children who are intimidated when they see lots of writing on the page. Also, the illustrations are used to demonstrate the text, so non-readers could also get something out of the this book. I could easily read this to a class, but I could see it being used independently by students from ages 6 - 10 and beyond. It would be an absolute hit in any classroom. - Educator Wendy Preston
Beautiful illustrations to this wonderful book about the largest species of animals on earth. The book gives a brief introduction into their lives, habitats and predators. The majestic animals are the giraffe, komodo dragon, African elephant, colossal squid, moose, blue whale, ostrich, Galápagos tortoise and my favorite the hippopotamus! I highly recommend this book for kids of all ages. - Mortisha's Books
