Billie Jean King

Billie Jean King, a former No. 1 player in the world, won 39 Grand Slam titles during her playing career--12 in singles, 16 in women's doubles, and 11 in mixed doubles. She founded the Women's Tennis Association in 1973 and has been a champion for racial and gender equity throughout her life. She is the first woman athlete to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Jolie Christine is a writer and doctor from southern California. She is an assistant professor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In her spare time, Jolie loves tennis, figure skating, gymnastics, history, museums, ballet, old houses, and crime shows. This is her debut children's book.

Alexandra Badiu is a children's book illustrator and visual developer for animation. She grew up in a family of athletes and played sports herself in elementary school. Alexandra lives in Izmir, Turkey.
