Dr. Sabrina Brinson is professor of childhood education and family studies. Brinson is the founder and national director of two award-winning national, community-based, literacy programs: Boys Booked on Barbershops (B-BOB) and Girls Booked on Beautyshops (G-BOB). She is also a member of several professional organizations including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Council of Teachers of English, and the International Literacy Association. Mark A. Montgomery is an old soul from the suburbs of Kansas City. Some of his greatest inspirations are bits of Americana: Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Old Movies, Barbeque and the Dust Bowl Era of the 1930s. His artistic heroes include Pablo Picasso, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Al Hirschfeld, Thomas Hart Benton, Stanton MacDonald-Wright, Diego Rivera and Miguel Covarrubias. He loves vintage texture and explores color, shape and movement from Cubism, Futurism and Synchronism. He is a BIG fan of illustration. He still works and lives in the Midwest with his family. On his birthday, he eats dry ribs and takes the family to a movie.
