Books About Ice Cream

Ice cream has been a favorite food in the United States at least since the 1740s, which is probably why July is National Ice Cream Month! In the 19th Century, an ice cream maker was invented that allowed you to hand-crank the ice cream inside a bucket of ice, mixing the ingredients until they slowly froze. Today, there are electric ice cream makers, and huge ice cream factories make close to one billion gallons of ice cream in the U.S. every year.

But you can actually make ice cream without an ice cream maker, if you have a few simple ingredients, ice, salt, and two plastic bags. Here’s how: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Homemade-Ice-Cream-in-a-Bag/

And here are some great books about making and enjoying ice cream. Yum!
