K-Gr 2--Book-It Bunny is back and ready to race through this entertaining reader in her new fancy super shoes. She challenges a snail to a race across the book. "And with my brand-new Super Shoes there is no way that I can lose!" But she gets distracted several times along the way. Much like the tortoise and the hare, the slower animal wins. She blames her shoes, but vows to try harder tomorrow. The text is in large blocks, rhymes, and is easy to read; there aren't many words that beginning readers would need help with. Illustrations are simple and fun, similar in style and layout to Mo Willems's "Elephant & Piggie" books. VERDICT A fun beginning reader that fans of the first Book-It Bunny book will read over and over.--Kristin J. Anderson
