David Doubilet
David Doubilet is an acclaimed underwater photographer who has been a contract photographer for National Geographic since 1976 and has shot numerous articles for the publication. A member of the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame, he has explored the world's waters from a young age, photographing the depths of such places as New Zealand, Canada, Japan, and the Southwest Pacific. Doubilet has photographed stingrays, sponges, and sleeping sharks in the Caribbean as well as shipwrecks in the South Pacific, the Atlantic, and at Pearl Harbor. His books include Light in the Sea, The Kingdom of Coral: Australia's Great Barrier Reef, and Fish Face. He is also the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the Lennart Nilsson Award in photography and the Sara Prize. Jennifer Hayes is a marine biologist and photojournalist specializing in aquatic systems. Her research interests are the evolution and ecology of primitive fishes. She is an award-winning photographer, an author, and a speaker. Jennifer and National Geographic contributing photographer David Doubilet work as a team to coproduce stories for National Geographic magazine.
