WorldCat is the world's largest library catalog, helping you find library materials online.
Warnaar, a blogger whose site revolves around hand-lettered typography, presents an array of activities that allow readers to develop their own designs and lettering techniques. Over four sections, children are invited to write their names, practice pen strokes, and use lined pages to practice styles like "Swirly Alphabet" and "Floral Alphabet." More involved projects, building on the skills learned, include making cards with inspirational slogans to tape to a mirror, crafting a decoupage-style "mixed media sign" using assorted scrap papers and objects, and coming up with original T-shirt designs. Readers with a love of lettering and a flair for design are in good hands. Ages 8-12. (Sept.)
