Be Big! is a picture book worth reading time and again with our young children. It is a simple story with an big message about bravery, confidence, and listening to your inner voice. In this case, Beatrice's inner voice comes in the form of her secret friend, Benjamin the butterfly. This is such a refreshing take on teaching young children about self esteem and friendship. The idea of BE BIG! when faced with the what if s that come with trying something new, is empowering in a kid-friendly manner. It is a wonderful reminder for all children that it's okay to feel nervous and even more, that it s okay to stand out and be yourself.
