In this case, Beatrice's inner voice comes in the form of her secret friend, Benjamin the butterfly. This is such a refreshing take on teaching young children about self esteem and friendship. The idea of BE BIG! when faced with the what if s that come with trying something new, is empowering in a kid-friendly manner. It is a wonderful reminder for all children that it's okay to feel nervous and even more, that it s okay to stand out and be yourself.
