"Zoom In" challenges readers to examine the photos more closely to find specific details. Back matter includes an "Expert Quiz" that checks for comprehension. "Expert Gear" shows a professional related to the topic (a lepidopterist, veterinarian, etc.) with all their gear labeled. The glossary offers thumbnail images along with the definitions as another support for early readers. Photos throughout the series include individuals from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds. VERDICT A useful collection for primary classrooms.
