PreS-Gr 2--When Paco the dog goes out to the garden to deposit a small mound of poop, Lola the fly immediately lands and claims this gift as her own. As she celebrates, Fiona the fly also lands and lays claim to the mountain of poop. This sets off a battle between the two flies as they try to determine who will be the victor and keep the poop for themselves. Fiona and Lola battle all day and into the night, drawing a line at the middle of their mountain and staying awake to guard what is theirs. As the sun rises, neither Lola nor Fiona has enough strength to continue the battle. Before they know what has happened, the gardener's large boot steps on the pile of poop--and on Lola and Fiona! As they reflect while they are both in the hospital, they decide that next time, they will be sure to share. This Spanish-language picture book is sure to be a hit for storytimes and read-alouds. The comical illustrations depict the very expressive flies as they bicker with each other, and the dramatic text will have readers howling with laughter.
