We share one world, we share many colors. One World, Many Colors is a lyrical celebration of the vibrant colors waiting to be found in all corners of the world. From the ice-white plains of Antarctica to the soft pink blossoms of the Japanese countryside. The same colors can be found everywhere else in the world, in nature, in our cities, and in our cultures. From travel writer Ben Lerwill, and with beautiful illustrations from Alette Straathof this non-fiction picture book opens children's eyes to the wonders of the world and the spectrum of color that we share.

K-Gr 4--Lerwill introduces young readers to places all over the world, including Antarctica, Paris, Kenya, and New York City, connecting them to relevant colors. People of various skin tones and ethnicities are illustrated throughout, so many readers will see themselves represented in this beautiful picture book. Each page contains a new color, straightforward text, and distinct illustrations. For example, the color blue shows a blue whale diving deep into the ocean on one page. The opposite page features the blue sky above Mount Everest and interesting facts. The end of the book includes a map of the spotlighted cities, which is a great resource. This page also lists the colors written in nine different languages, emphasizing the book's wide range of cultures. VERDICT A welcome addition to elementary libraries that will make for a great read-aloud.--Morgan O'Reilly, Riverdale Country School, NY

Daniel Long is an illustrator based in Norfolk, England, who has been working there since he graduated from college in 2014. His work is heavily influenced by the natural world, whether that be the dinosaurs of the Jurassic period, spider monkeys and jaguars in the Amazon Rainforest, or the kingfishers and otters of his local Norfolk Broads. When not illustrating, Daniel can be found procrastinating, playing guitar, or exploring the coastline with his dog Hendrix.
