PreS-K--Readers see the neighborhood through a dog's eyes, via a video camera. A presumed dog owner decides to strap a video camera to their dog's head as the dog moves through the community. Readers see the dog run off toward a ball and talk himself into getting it. "Get the ball! Get the ball! Get the ball!" The dog barks at two birds, and as he finishes with the ball, a squirrel appears. Readers see the dog trying to get the squirrel, but hear the inner workings of the dog's mind telling the squirrel to run away. "Run, Squirrel! Run!" The dog stops to scratch himself and proceeds to urinate by the tree. Then, he continues to scratch, digs up some flowers, and finds a bone. After a few more things happen, a child comes out of the house and wants to play fetch, but the dog is not interested and falls asleep. This book is perfect for a beginner reader. The font is large and bold, and the illustrations align perfectly with the story. This early reader is a part of the "Critter-Cam" series, where animals get a video camera placed on their body and readers see the world through their eyes. VERDICT Great for any children's library collection.--Annmarie Braithwaite
