The follow-up novel to the Highly-Rated The Origin of Master Hopkick: Beginnings!
John started training martial arts on his home island with no knowledge of belts, ranks, or styles. Now that he finds himself calling Australia home and has a black belt around his waist, John is learning that a black belt isn't the end goal but is instead a new beginning. He has much to learn as he prepares to teach new students for the first time based on his own lessons from Mr. Tung and Sensei Bruce.
Follow John as he attempts to make good choices, be a good son, brother, and cousin, and share the martial arts he has been taught as best he can with a new group of students.
This tale is great for reading to younger children, especially as a reward at the end of a martial arts class. The events of the story make for a great class discussion and learning opportunity. Our featured character takes us through many lessons that mirror the goals taught in martial arts: integrity, perseverance, hard work, discipline, and much more. Whether you train in karate, taekwondo, kung fu, or another style of martial art, or even if you are just a fan of the martial arts, this fun, short story is sure to bring a smile to your face
.*Stay tuned! We will release a mat chat guide in the near future that can be used for classroom settings, both in and out of the martial arts, to create a group discussion around the subject matter found in our adventure story!
