Sara Harrell Banks Sara Harrell Banks was raised in Georgia and Alabama by loving and eccentric relatives. She came from a newspaper family and followed in the tradition of her great-grandfather, who was editor and publisher of the Choctaw Herald, and her grandmother, who was his printer's devil and longed to write stories for the paper. She was the author of several books for young readers, including Remember My Name, Abraham's Battle: A Novel of Gettysburg, and Under the Shadow of Wings, which was named an American Bookseller Pick of the Lists and compared to To Kill a Mockingbird by School Library Journal. She died in 2020.
