by Rick Stromoski (Author)
It's the weekend, and best-friend dogs Schnozzer and Tatertoes decide to take an educational trip to the National Air and Space Museum. But when the dogs tumble into an active capsule in pursuit of a stray yo-yo, they soon launch themselves into outer space. Along their free-wheeling intergalactic journey, they experience the ups and downs of zero gravity, make contact with moon dwellers who want someone to to clean up the junk left behind by the Apollo missions, and even discover an asteroid heading directly for Earth!
It's up to Schnozzer and Tatertoes to save their planet. Will they return as Earth's greatest heroes, or will this bad dream go down in cosmic comic history?

Gr 2-5--Best friends Tatertoes and Schnozzer return in this stand-alone follow up to Schnozzer & Tatertoes: Take a Hike for another funny adventure--this time in space (sort of). Tatertoes--a white dog with brown ears--wakes up one Saturday morning with an urge for adventure. His friend and roommate Schnozzer--a gray and white schnauzer--suggests a trip to the National Air and Space Museum. While at the museum, Tatertoes (perhaps against his will) learns some fun facts about flight and space travel, which leads to a wacky space adventure involving the Apollo Lunar Module, a trip to the Moon, the president, aliens, and an asteroid. Just when the narrative gets a bit far-fetched, Stromoski brings readers back to Earth with a heartwarming and funny ending. The illustrations are simple yet engaging and match the humorous tone well. VERDICT A first purchase for most collections, this will keep young readers laughing and engaged all the way to space and back.--Kadie Seitz
