Bookelicious PopUp Shop FAQs
Q. What books are available for purchase in a PopUp Shop?
A. With a Bookelicious PopUp Shop your students can choose from a collection of more than 5,000 great titles. In addition to receiving personalized recommendations generated by their Bookmoji, students can browse or search by topic, author, title, or series, adding their favorite books to their wishlists.
Q. How do students access the Bookelicious website and build Bookmojis?
A. Students access Bookelicious via your single-sign-on (SSO) platform. Currently, Bookelicious partners with Clever SSO to access our PopUp Shops, but beginning in 2025 Bookelicious will also partner with ClassLink to access our PopUp Shops.
Q. Do I need the Clever SSO platform to run PopUp Shops?
A. For fall, 2024, you will need to have access to Clever to run a PopUp Shop. Beginning in 2025, Bookelicious will also partner with ClassLink for PopUp Shops.
Q. How do schools and families benefit from a PopUp Shop?
A. According to the research, students who have access to lots of high-interest books plus the ability to choose their own titles are more motivated to read, and students who read more are more successful in school. Check out the studies.
That’s what Bookelicious and our Bookmojis are all about – a fun way for kids to discover great books, discover themselves as readers, and discover a love of reading! And since schools receive 20% of all PopUp Shop purchases, plus 10% of purchases made by families and friends during the entire school year, in the form of Bookelicious Credit, schools can use those funds to purchase even more books or programs designed to help students fall in love with reading.
Q. What rewards do PopUp Shops generate for schools?
A. With Bookelicious Credit equal to 20% of all PopUp Shop purchases during your PopUp(s) and 10% of all other purchases made by families and friends at any time during the rest of the school year, you can purchase even more books or programs for your school designed to help students fall in love with reading. You will receive information about how to redeem your Bookelicious Credit approximately 10 days after your PopUp Shop closes. This promotional credit from Bookelicious will be good for two years from the date of receipt (after two years, any unused portion will expire).
Q. Who can participate in a PopUp Shop?
A. Right now, your students in kindergarten through 5th grade can participate. Beginning in 2025, PopUps will also be available for students in 6th-8th grades.
Q. How often can I run a PopUp Shop?
A. You can run up to two PopUp Shops per school year, one during each semester. Plus, when PopUp Shops are not active, schools will still receive 10% back in Bookelicious Credit for all purchases made by families and friends at bookelicious.com by using your school’s unique code at checkout.
Q. How do families pay for books in a PopUp Shop?
A. To make things easy, families can pay with ApplePay, GooglePay and credit cards. Beginning in 2025 families will also be able to pay with Venmo.
Q. Can families gift books to teachers and librarians?
A. Yes! Families can purchase Bookelicious eGift cards to gift books to their librarians, teachers, or anyone else they would like.
Q. Do schools need to meet a minimum revenue threshold to participate in PopUp Shops?
A. No, there is no minimum revenue required for schools to participate in Bookelicious PopUp Shops.
Q. Are PopUp Shops customizable?
A. Yes, you can customize the collection of books featured in your PopUp Shop three different ways — by price, grade-band and/or ISBN. We share our recommended list of 5,000+ fresh, hand-curated, inclusive titles with you for your review.
Q. How/where are books shipped, and who pays for shipping?
A. Books are shipped to your school boxed by classroom, organized by student, and shipping is free!
Q. When will students receive their books?
A. Students will receive their books at school approximately 4 weeks after your PopUp shop closes.
