Javier Sobrino (Asturias, Spain, 1960) is a primary school teacher, award winning writer and researcher on children's literature and reading promotion. For 28 years, he has collaborted in the Santander children's and youth literature magazine "Peonza". He has planted numerous trees and published nearly twenty books, mostly picture books. He enjoys collecting spinning tops, lighthouses, and friends. He wants to finish the Tower of Babel, sail the Amazon River, discover the secrets of Samarkand, contemplate the streets of Macondo and travel across Utopia.
Federico Delicado (Badajoz, 1956) is a Spanish award winning illustrator. Attracted by the world of drawing, he graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and soon began to work as a full-time illustrator in the 70s. He has been a contributor to the Spanish newspaper El País, although most of his work consists in illustrating children's and youth books for several publishers, being selected for the White Ravens list in 2015. In addition to illustrating children's books, he collaborates in different press media, such as the newspapers El País or El Correo de Andalucía. He has won several prizes in literary competitions, such as the Emilia Pardo Bazán Prize for non-sexist literature in 2002, the second prize at the Alicante City Illustrated Children's Album International Contest in 2005 with his book El petirrojo, and the Compostela International Prize for picture books with Ícaro.
